The eighth edition of Fashion Film Festival Milano will take place from January 14-18, 2022, during the Milan Men’s Fashion Week.
The international event, founded and directed by Constanza Cavalli Etro to celebrate the creative universe between fashion and cinema, inaugurates its rich and researched program in hybrid format, online and in presence.

This year, more than ever, Fashion Film Festival Milano will let fashion speak in a different language. Not only will we “celebrate” the talent of the fashion houses, but we will reflect like a mirror of society major social issues. We tell the story of a “fashion system” which is no longer closed and elitist, but “listening” to social issues such as gender equality, the environment and inclusion, of which it is the interpreter.

As in every edition, Fashion Film Festival Milano 2022 includes a team of heterogeneous and original jury members selected according to one common denominator: to have top authority in their cultural field.

Available exclusively on the platform fashionfilmfestivalmilano.cameramoda.it, the official selection of 260 films chosen from a diversified range of thousands of fashion films received from over 60 countries and curated by Gloria Maria Cappelletti together with the Festival’s artistic committee. There is no shortage of big names, but plenty of room is dedicated to upcoming filmmakers and experimentation The Festival’s efforts to support young designers is also manifested in a special selection of fashion films “Made in Italy” by emerging designers from the Camera Moda Fashion Trust.
Following the Festival principle where “The Big helps the Small”, international famous directors, top fashion brands, leading production houses and fashion magazines showcasing their work shoulder to shoulder with the new young creative wave.
The selected films will be divided into different thematic playlists curated by the FFFMilano’s curator Gloria Maria Cappelletti (I-D Magazine Italy Editor in chief).
The International Jury will declare the winners and nominees from the 15 Categories: Best Music, Best Editing, Best, Best Styling, Best Cinematography, Best Documentary, Best Experimental Fashion Film, Best New Designer/Brand, Best New Italian Designer/Brand, Best New Director, Best New Italian Fashion Film, Best New Italian Designer/Brand Best New Fashion Film, Best Director, Best Italian Fashion Film, Best Fashion Film and Best Green Fashion Film.

FFFM DIGITAL AWARDS 2022

Due to the Covid-19 and and the pandemic-related uncertainties, FFFMilano creates the second edition of the FFFMilano’s Digital Awards to celebrate the winners of the eighth edition. It includes an innovative video format created under the artistic direction of Ced Pakusevskiy and showcasing the work of American digital artist Mark Vomit. The winners of the 15 award categories will be announced by the international jury, who will dedicate video messages to the winners, who in response will send their acknowledgements. All of this will be woven together by extracts from the winning and nominated fashion films. During the digital awards, the winners will receive a digital prize created by Fornasetti.
FFFM DIGITAL AWARDS 2022 EXHIBITION
Fashion Film Festival Milano is continuously committed to sharing its creativity with the city and invites the public to discover the nominees and winners of 2022 in two contemporary exhibitions: FFFMilano Digital Awards will be broadcast at Urban Center, a municipal exhibition venue at Triennale Milano in Milan and at the same time at the Museo MIAC–Museo dell’Audiovisivo e del Cinema of Cinecittà in Rome.

Directed by Olivier Dahan. The Festival presents the Italian premiere of the first feature film by visionary fashion designer John Galliano, a dreamlike representation of his creative universe.

With an introduction by director Jim Rakete and as part of the #FFFMILANOFORGREEN initiative, the Festival presents this film that recounts the global push of activists to tackle climate change to ensure the future of generations, with the participation of acclaimed personalities such as Wim Wenders and Patty Smith.
STEP INTO PARADISE
Monday 18th January | 21.00
TIMING: 75 minutes
Directed by Amanda Blue, FFFMilano presents as part of #FFFMILANOFORWOMEN the incredible story of friendship and collaboration between Australian fashion icons Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson. The duo met in the 1970s and opened the shop Flamingo Park, which revolutionized local fashion scene with a style that turned kitsch cool.

Fashion Film Festival Milano pays tribute to one of the greatest exponents of Italian creativity, Elio Fiorucci, with a special screening of the documentary “Elio Fiorucci – Free Spirit” directed by Andrea Servi and Swan Bergman.

CONVERSATION FASHION SECOND CHANCE
As part of the special project #FFFMILANOFORGREEN we presents a conversation on the theme of sustainability with Fanny Moizant, the founder of the Vestiaire Collective platform, Matteo Ward, entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of WRÅD and Sara Sozzani Maino, Head of Special Projects Vogue Italia, aimed at investigating the issues of sustainability in the fashion universe, recycling and new solutions for a more sustainable production.
CONVERSATION WOMEN IN FILM
FFFMilano presents a conversation, part of the special project #FFFMILANOFORWOMEN, dedicated to the theme of female representation in the world of cinema. The meeting, which will be attended by Chiara Sbarigia, President of Cinecittà, Lisa Immordino Vreeland, filmmaker and writer, Alessandra Cardone, writer and director, and moderated by the journalist Marta Stella, will be an opportunity for debate and discussion on the empowerment of women in the Italian and international film industry.
CONVERSATION BLACK CREATIVITY
As part of the special project #FFFMILANOFORWOMEN, the fashion designer and activist Stella Jean, will dialogue with Gessica Généus, producer, film director and actress, Edward Buchanan and Michelle Francine Ngonmo, co-founders of WAMI, curator of the Festival Gloria Maria Cappelletti and the founder and director Constanza Cavalli Etro, to address cultural representation in the fashion world, raising issues and reflecting on possible solutions to improve the system.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
FASHION FILM FESTIVAL MILANO 2022 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD – ONLINE VOTING
Following the Festival’s democratic and inclusive spirit, the public will assume the important role to judge the winners with the People’s Choice Award. Voting can be done on the Festival’s official website at the moment of the film’s release.
