The title WE WANT ROSES TOO refers to the generational transitioning between the 70’s generation and today’s youth, but also relates to the issue of gender transitioning, an infinite battle that started exactly in the 70’s.
The main character is Valèrie Taccarelli, one of the first Italian transexuals, LGBT activist and founder of the Italian Transgender Identity Movement, MIT.

The film was directed by documentary filmmaker Mattia Colombo and written by Andrea Batilla together with Valèrie herself.
It was shot at the Barlassina Country Club, just outside of Milano, the same location chosen by Michelangelo Antonioni to film “La Notte”, a location that has never been used by cinema since then.
