Kuwaii’s AW14 film ‘Palladian’ is a representation of how the human mind assembles memory; inspiring a feeling of déjà vu. Memories flicker between the two sisters as they delve into hazy corners of their minds, and each other.
Palladian draws inspiration from David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks; and the films of Guy Maddin. Through the use of disjointed imagery, a cryptic narrative and dialogue that is at odds with the environment, Kuwaii has created a new perspective in Fashion Film.
Palladian’s director Tim White explores elements of the nonsensical in this dream like reality. By playing with speed, touching for a moment on an intimate scene, or repeating and reversing details, he has created a fluid, discombobulated recollection of the past.
