Maki Oh’s Autumn Winter 1516 collection film explores the idea of adopted identities as result of West Africa?s long history with cultural appropriation. The film searches through the myth of the sea mermaid – the ‘mami water’ and searches for her through the different layers of ideas, space, form and texture.
