Fashion Film Festival Milano presents its first DIGITAL EDITION! A new, completely free digital format online streaming!!

Fashion Film Festival Milano founded and directed by Constanza Etro celebrates its seventh edition going digital and with a very important partnership with the Italian Fashion Council. The rich 7th Edition will be held from the 13th to 18th of January 2021, during the Milan Men’s Fashion Week on three platforms simultaneously fashionfilmfestivalmilano.cameramoda.it, on MyMovies.it  and on fffmilano.com prior registration.

More than 200 fashion films in Competition selected from 900 received from 58 countries, an International Jury, 5 Conversations with leading figures, 4 Feature Films Premiers with the Director’s  Introduction and Q&A, the two prestigious special projects #FFFMilanoForGreen and #FFFMilanoForWomen and finally a calendar of IG Live.

FFFMilano’s community will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite fashion film and declare the winner of the”PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD”. The online voting will be available on the Voting Online Section in this site from the 13th to the 18th

Fashion Film Festival Milan this year will embrace all the new challenges with the resilient, inclusive and democratic spirit that has always characterized it, carrying out a message for the world of unity through the freedom of creative expression.

FFFMilano receives more than 1000 fashion films from 60 countries around the world each edition. The official selection consists in aprox 200 Fashion Films created either by up-and-coming talents or established directors. Following the Festival principle where “The big helps the Small”International famous directors, top fashion brands, leading production houses and fashion magazines showcasing their work shoulder to shoulder with the new young creative wave.
The selected films will be divided into different thematic playlists curated by the FFFMilano’s curator Gloria Maria Cappelletti (I-D Magazine Italy Editor in  chief)

The International Jury will declare the winners and nominees from the 16 Categories: Best Music, Best Editing, Best Production, Best Styling, Best Cinematography, Best Documentary, Best Experimental Fashion Film, Best New Designer/Brand, Best New Italian Designer/Brand, Best New Director, Best New Italian Fashion Film, Best New Italian Designer/Brand Best New Fashion Film, Best Director, Best Italian Fashion Film, Best Fashion Film and Best Green Fashion Film.

The Festival presents the Italian premiere of the latest work by the award-winning director, who has already created masterpieces such as “Valentino: The Last Emperor” and “Dior & I”. After the screening it will be possible to listen to the director who will provide unpublished insights and details on the making of the film.

“Made in Bangladesh” directed by Rubaiyat Hossain. As part of the #FFFMILANOFORGREEN initiative, the Festival presents this work denouncing a misguided fashion industry that exploits poverty to make more and more profits. The film will be introduced by the director.

MARTIN MARGIELA: IN HIS OWN WORD + Q&A

“Martin Margiela: in his own words” directed by Reiner Holzemer. FFFMilano presents the first testimony in which the Belgian designer opens up in his own words and tells the backstage of his work at a brand that has made fashion history. The screening will be followed by a conversation with director Reiner Holzemer.

“Let it be Law” directed by Juan Solanas. As part of the #FFFMILANOFORWOMEN initiative, the Festival presents this important work, presented at the last Cannes Film Festival, which bears witness to the struggle for the right to abortion in Argentina. A documentary that aims to break down cultural stigmas and bring greater freedom and awareness of gender issues at an international level. The screening will be introduced by director Juan Solanas.

SPECIAL SCREENING: THE TIME IS NOW

The Istituto Europeo di Design, CID – Consorzio Italiano Detox and Greenpeace Italia present the evolution of the project The Time is Now!, born in 2018, an expression of sustainable fashion. A selection of IED Italy students from the Schools of Fashion, Design and Communication worked in synergy to create 7 characters representing the languages and styles of different and contemporary worlds.

Ecoalf’s founder, pioneer and activist in sustainable fashion and lifestyle tells the audience about himself together with sustainable fashion expert Hakan Karaosman. The talk will explore in depth sustainability today, not only in the textile sector but also in the relationship between humans and nature.

Women directors from all over the world discuss their influences and how they found their visual identity. The Festival collaborates with the women’s film collective Girls in Film to create a discussion between women filmmakers from different parts of the world about the importance of having an authentic visual language and the fundamental aspect of gender representation in the film industry.
