What do you think about the relation between Fashion and Cinema? In what way do you think fashion films could help both industries?

I have been a fan of the fashion film format for sometime. I think it provides another opportunity to showcase a fashion brands unique perspective, but is it’s also an interesting new format for storytelling.

Look back at your past experiences: do you have a particular job or story to share with us?

All the stories somehow never sound as good when written out. The good one’s i should probably save for a scene..

Do you have a special figure, a company or a group you would like to meet and work with?

A Whitespace Creative Agency, which i founded has a great network of amazing young talented visual creatives, based in Lagos, Nigeria that i have worked with, from Kadara Enyeasi, William Ukpoh and many more. But i would have to say with regard to film – i would like to continue to work with is Maki Osakwe.

How do you see yourself in 10 years?

I hope we’ve been in the position to have create some really intresting work, a strong body of visual narratives, films etc, that are specific to our context here in Nigeria, but is able to have global reach. Work that connects with people. A cliche, yes – but an important one. It’s really important for me to continue to create work locally.

Tell us something about your experience at Fashion Film Festival Milano.

Winning the Best New Director Award at FFM in 2016 was an honour. Myself an Maki Osakwe who collaborated on the film together, made it to just tell the story of what inspired the collection for that year. FFM is a great platform celebrating an important part of the fashion and film industry.
