Je Suis Responsable is the story of a woman visiting Planet Earth. The film takes its title from a monologue it quotes and homages. In Godard’s Vivre sa Vie, Anna Karina’s character tells a friend how she feels that “we are responsible for everything we do”. She goes on giving practical examples to prove her point. This iconic scene has alway made me wonder… What does it actually mean to say that we are responsible? On one hand it’s an easy concept to grasp at: whatever I do, think, or feel it’s my choice. But our instinct tells us there’s much more to it. As scientists warn us of the irrevocable damage Global Warming will have on society, preserving life on this planet has become the defining challenge of our time.

This is a film based on improvisation pieces, in which tornado is used as the
main force behind the movement.
The theme explored in the film is the vertigo experienced when encountering
the own soul mate. The sensation of a dance improvisation is similar to
meeting one’s soul mate. Both cases share some parallelism: there is an
unconscious fear of opening ourselves physically as well as emotionally.
As we have idealized the soul mate concept as well as the search for the
perfect movement when two bodies improvise a dance.

Starting from the wedding traditions and customs of the citizens of Hundorf, a story is shaped around two timeless characters that defies the time. It suggests the journey of the spirit in search of its fulfilment through love, outlining the idea that everyone has a soulmate that they find even at the end of physical life or beyond. The story is based on passing down from one generation to another the values and spiritual heritage preserved with the evolution of society.
In other words symbolising the life that flows in an absurd way in their story, in a magical place in Transylvania.

Kindness, sweetness and masculinity.
The fluidity and the softness of the movements of the parts of the body are opposed to
the masculinity of the subject.
This contrast is inspired by the city of Genoa, by the gentle sound of its waves, by the
sweetness of the hills on which the city stands and by the masculinity of the alleys of
the historical center.
The fashion film is accompanied by a background of natural sounds of the
surrounding reality, noises that almost seem like silences and that guide the solitude
of the subject in every movement.
The protagonist’s isolation, the sounds and the movements brings back to the
historical period he lived, the unmoving world.
The subject, immersed in his solitude, rediscovers the reality that surrounds him
again, the landscapes, the noises and moves in harmony with what his eyes see.
The delicate and flowing movements are a metaphor for the sea and hills, while the
masculinity of the subject is inspired by the characteristics of the alleys of the
historical center.
The location, thanks to its uniqueness, is the inspiring muse of the fashion film; in
every detail echoing the sounds and movements that inspired the protagonist.

Jaro and Alham are a socially weak couple who are in a crisis. They come into conflict when it comes
to live together harmoniously. Both continually lose the belief that this relationship will last forever.
With a stronger social environment and secure jobs, a good environment would be created to find peace,
but they do not agree on a common denominator. For Jaro, an odyssey begins through deals to enable
Alham‘s wishes but Alham also feels that under these circumstances it is simply not possible to realize
oneself if one only wants to be there for the other person – is that love or a problem?
