TITLE THE WILAYA OF ROOTS

DIRECTOR Sarra Ryma

BRAND Atlal

COUNTRY France

The Artistic Direction of this campaign was entrusted to Laure Or- set-Prelet and Sarra Ryma, who wanted to mix cultures and the in- fluence of roots to show their pluralities and to anchor this collection in the reality of 2020. Through these images, we agree to see beauty beyond gender, sexual orientation, religion or ethnic origins… while digging from our roots, and our common imagination. So to pay tribute to this collection, it seemed important to us to mix the North African pictorial tradition with more modern poses and attitudes. To play with elements of decorations and/or accessories to build an oriental painting while creating a gap with the power of our models.

TITLE Senti mento

DIRECTOR Michele De Bari

BRAND /

COUNTRY Italy

Overcoming atavistic gender roles, it is through an androgynous boy that “the” Medea is staged, thus allegorically narrating the universality of this story. After Jason’s betrayal, Medea meditates and carries out her revenge: murdering what her husband loved most, her children, who were also her own heart … Brandita the hatchet, Medea ferinally slaughters her children, an apple and meat: both symbols referring to the sphere of death and life. Popularly the apple is a sign of health, but also of divine sin; the flesh of wealth, but also of a well-existing reality, in flesh and blood with all its vulnerabilities. The apple is tasted, the apple is spat out, the apple is devoured; the torn flesh, reduced to shreds, and it is of it that the hands get stained, that the filthy face gets dirty. The scene hides the feeling of the murderer, one lies about his feelings: Medea is dazed, almost a mechanical agent of the most harrowing act for a mother. The labor, the pain, the torment, the anguish are only written on her dress. A spouse can be a spouse, an orphan child, but a parent without the child? Ineffable, unspeakable, unspeakable, against nature … Nature whose relational health is attested by short entomological frames, such as the lively cooperation of some ants, inert spectators together with the whole order of nature of the unspeakable crime and sin: infanticide and worse still multiple filicide. Take revenge by rebalancing justice, but murdering your own children, or be repudiated and ostracized, but rich in her beloved children? The sentiment of the individual against that of the species, of the vilified and of the mother… Medea detaches herself from her biology and emancipates herself in a sentiment that annihilates all the others: she had justice, but she was internally executed. The golden feet distract from the blood, but she / he has lost everything: mother Medea, depersonalized, is the apathetic nobody.
