Miss Fame, whose real name is Kurtis Dam-Mikkelsen is a model, makeup artist, and recording artist. Born in San Luis Obispo, California in 1985, Kurtis moved to New York to work as a model while pursuing a career as a makeup artist. Working under industry icon Pat McGrath, he perfected his craft and began to build a network of celebrity clientele. Around the same time, he began modeling and performing as a drag artist under the name Miss Fame.

As the career took off, Kurtis as Miss Fame became an official spokesmodel for L’Oreal Paris and was the first drag artist to walk the red carpet of the Festival du Film de Cannes. Miss Fame has since appeared in two global beauty campaigns with the brand and partnered with numerous global beauty brands. Miss Fame was selected to appear as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty campaigns, Viktor & Rolf fragrances, and Charlotte Tilbury beauty line.

Miss Fame appeared on television as a contestant of award-winning reality-show RuPaul’s Drag Race and shortly after came up with an album called Beauty Marked.

Convinced that beauty has no gender and no boundaries, Kurtis launched Miss Fame Beauty, an inclusive, high-quality brand and tribute to inspirations found from the fashion industry.

Miss Fame has been celebrated for high-fashion editorial work and collaborations with world-renowned photographers and has been featured in publications including Vogue Germany, Vogue Portugal, Vogue Paris, Vogue Japan, CR Fashion Book, PAPER, V Magazine, LOVE, CANDY, Tush, OUT, ELLE, and others.

In 2020, Kurtis moved to Zurich with his husband enjoying the city and its immediate access to nature while taking advantage of the proximity of European fashion capitals.
